Dennis had his first lesson about music at the age of three. Ever since then Dennis's infatuation for music grew bigger and stronger. At the age of six, Dennis has already started to learn how to play the violin. And at the age of eight he continued to have classical piano lessons.

In 2006, Dennis started to explore the saxophone. In the process of selflearning the instrument, Dennis discovered Jazz music. He then continued learning saxophone with Benny Likumahuwa , a famous jazz musician in Indonesia. Benny introduced Dennis to his son, Barry Likumahuwa. In December 2007, Dennis joined Barry's band, BLP (Barry Likumahuwa Project). Since then on, Dennis' career blossomed. Along the way Dennis also had a brief of vocal lessons. Dennis has performed in over 100 music festivals and at various jazz events including the prestigious JAK JAZZ and JAVA JAZZ Festival since 2005.

In 2007, Dennis launched his first Jazz album with his first band, CANZO entitled "A Song For You". In this album, Dennis played the saxophone. In October 2009, Dennis with his peers; Demas Narawangsa, David Manuhutu, and Enos Martyn, Albert Fakdawer, Reno Castelo formed a new band called “Indonesian Youth Regeneration” also known as IYR.
